Afi2Go Prime is a digital system designed mainly for dairy farmers to manage their herds and milk quality. The system includes sensors for monitoring cows and their milk production as well as a farm management software accessible via a desktop-based or mobile app. The system enables dairy farmers to track data about cow pregnancy status, milk production, presence of diseases or unhealthy conditions. The mobile app allows the farmers and their team to complete and record the farm’s routine tasks out in the field. The design makes it possible to select workflows that match specific operations. The app enables on-the-go data entry and ensures real-time synchronization with the farm management software, guaranteeing that every piece of information is promptly updated on multiple devices. The interactive app notifies the farmers based on real time changes.
Technology
Afi2Go Prime consists of sensors such as neck collars and leg sensors as well as a farm management software accessible via a mobile phone app running on Android or iOS. The app features different functions, such as herd management, milk monitoring, health management, insemination & fertility alert. It allows the users to manage their daily base work in the field and the team involved in the work. The app gives access to real time data and management of each cow from the mobile device. Afi2GoPrime app allows to assign tags onsite, set animal codes, manage treatments, assess fertility status and much more. Data collected by the app is synched in real-time with the AfiFarm management software.
Target
The main users of Afi2Go Prime are dairy farmers. The app was specially developed for large scale, mechanized dairy farmers. The app has been downloaded more than 1 000 times as of Dec 2023.
Business model
While the app Afi2Go Prime itself is free to download by the farmers from any Apple or Android store, a subscription model is in place, where a yearly fee is paid by customer to use the application and software. Smart collars and sensors are available for purchase.
Impact
Afi2Go Prime is expected to automatize and improve the precision of dairy farming activities. Herdsmen, inseminators, and vets are expected to benefit from the synchronised access to more data and information, such as task lists and cow cards, and record all actions directly via the app on their mobiles.
