Cloverfield™
Online digital phenotyping and crop image analytics platform
DescriptionOverview of the initiative and its approach.
Cloverfield™ is an online phenotyping data platform powered by the PhenoScale for UAV, Literal for handheld or high-resolution, and PhenoMobile for rover modules. The solution consolidates, processes, and visualizes crop imaging data from drones, smartphones, satellites, and ground sensors. The system organizes multi-site trials, standardizes data collection and analysis, and shows consistent trait results in one place to compare varieties, supports plant breeding, crop-protection testing, production monitoring, track performance, and make faster, evidence-based decisions.
TechnologyTechnology used by the initiative.
Cloverfield™ is a digital platform that uses images from drones, small ground vehicles, phones, and satellites. The solution tags each image with an exact GPS location and uploads the data securely to the cloud. The system combines the images into farm maps, finds the trial plots, and uses machine learning to measure plant traits. Results appear in a web dashboard with interactive maps and downloads.
TargetUsers, groups, or communities targeted by the initiative.
Primary users are plant-breeding and crop-protection experts, research institutes, and agri-tech SMEs who need standardized image collection and trait analysis across multi-site trials.
Business modelHow the initiative delivers and sustains its value.
Cloverfield™ revenue comes from platform subscriptions, usage-based processing, and professional services such as onboarding, custom traits, integrations, and training. PhenoScale, Literal, PhenoMobile are licensed as add-on modules. Hardware is sold via partners and billed separately. Pricing is quote-based, an offer must be requested. The solution also offers a free demo.
ImpactThe observed or intended effects of the initiative.
Cloverfield™ aims to cut trial costs and time by standardizing image processing and trait outputs across sites. More targeted decisions can reduce inputs and improve yield and quality stability.
