Description

DigiAgriFoodCH is a national Swiss communication and coordination platform designed to support and accelerate the digital transformation of the Swiss agricultural and food sector. DigiAgriFoodCH provides knowledge sharing, data-governance guidance, data standards, interoperability frameworks and stakeholder networking to enable efficient, secure and standardised data exchange across farms, supply-chain actors and institutions.

Technology

  • Desktop/web-based application

DigiAgriFoodCH operates as a web-based portal that aggregates resources, guidelines, news, and tools related to digital agriculture and data standardisation in Switzerland. The platform disseminates documentation on data standards, code lists, digitalisation strategies, interoperability, and facilitates connectivity between stakeholders across the agri-food sector.

  • Medium size farms
  • Smallholder farmers

DigiAgriFoodCH targets the full spectrum of stakeholders in the Swiss agri-food system — including farmers, agribusinesses, food processors, supply-chain actors, public authorities, data service providers, and other sector participants — to facilitate their participation in digital transformation, data exchange, and adoption of common data standards

Business model

  • Fully free
  • Donor support

DigiAgriFoodCH operates as a publicly funded coordination and communication platform led by Switzerland’s Federal Office for Agriculture (BLW/OFAG) to implement the national digitalization strategy for the agrifood sector; access to content and services is free of charge, with the site used to engage stakeholders and disseminate guidance, standards and events.

Impact

DigiAgriFoodCH aims to eliminate redundant data entry across different systems in Swiss agriculture by enabling secure and efficient data exchange via standardised data-infrastructure such as data standards, interoperability frameworks, and data-space readiness.
