Description
The Forest Management Information System is designed to improve the organization, planning, and management of forest ecosystems in Kyrgyzstan. The system facilitates the maintenance of reference information, valuation and inventory of sample plots, planning and reporting of forestry activities, management of lease relations, and integration of map data.
Technology
The Forest Management Information System is a web-platform available in Kyrgyz, Russian and English languages.
Target
The most common users of the system are government entities, more specifically, specialists of forestry enterprises and protected areas, specialists of regional departments, specialists of the Department of Forest Ecosystem Development, specialists of the State Department for Biodiversity Conservation and Protected Areas.
Business model
The Forest Management Information System Is only available to employees of government entities and maintained from the Ministry’s budget.
Impact
The Forest Management Information System enhances the efficiency of managing lease relations and integrates map data, leading to more effective decision-making. It also supports forestry employees and specialists by providing role-specific access and tools, resulting in better data management and engagement in forestry activities across various departments and protected areas.
