Grains & Oilseeds. Kazakhstan (зерновые & масличные. Казахстан) is a web-based app run by the MARGIN.KZ research centre that provides users with analytics, statistics, prices and news related to the country’s grain and oilseed market. The app also hosts an online market for the purchase and sale of agricultural inputs and outputs, and an interactive agrarian map of Kazakhstan with the contact details of farmers and such agro-industrial enterprises as traders, processors and input providers. The research centre is also engaged in the organization of agro-excursions and business meetings, field trips and tours of varying durations to any region of Kazakhstan.
Technology
The web-based application can be accessed via computers or mobile devices with an Internet connection, and registration is required to access most of the services. The information on the app is provided in Russian.
Target
The Grains & Oilseeds. Kazakhstan app attracts users from various fields, including farmers, processing industries and traders, who use the app for different purposes. The app can be used to access policies and studies, can aid in the planning of production activities, and can guide investments and business decisions through the hosted analytics, statistics, prices and news related to the country’s grain and oilseeds market. The app has currently 27 700 registered users, and according to the solution provider, more than 750 users visit the app on average every day, of which approximately 500 are smallholders. The portal serves as a communication channel for members of the Kazakh Union of Field Growers, which has a membership of 560 farmers, most of whom are smallholders.

The global grain and oilseeds market analytics can be accessed for KZT 13 000 ( approximately USD 28) per month (correct as of September 2022); the map of agricultural and associated enterprises can be accessed for KZT 10 000 (approximately USD 22) per month; trading app access can be provided for KZT 4000 ( approximately USD 9) per month; the bulletins, statistical data for Kazakhstan and price dynamics can be accessed for KZT 50 000 ( approximately USD 108) per month; while the full package of all services can be accessed for KZT 15 000 (approximately USD 32). Agribusinesses can also use the app to advertise their goods and services at a cost of for KZT 62 000 per month for an ad on the main page, or KZT 82 000 on all pages of the website. All the services of the portal are free to members of the Kazakh Union of Field Growers.
