Yonca is a mobile application developed to enhance farmers’ access to agricultural services and information such as subsidy application, and access to news and useful training for farmers living in remote areas. The solution enables farmers to follow the application process and receive instant updates regarding their subsidy application.

The mobile application uses personalized notifications for farmers to receive alerts specific to their farms. Through the app, users can browse through a list of product sales and service points, assisting farmers with easier process of searching for their tailored needs. Farmers using Yonca can also conveniently register their documents through their phones, such as land title registration, while viewing them in a digital environment. Using the application, farmers can also send a sowing declaration for any type of crop. Other features of the mobile app include agrometeorological calendar plan, weather forecast, and satellite images that can monitor crops through vegetation index, agrochemical analysis, and agricultural insurance calculator.

Yonca’s main beneficiaries are smallholder farmers and people in rural areas. The app is designed for users residing in remote areas to gain access to information, advisory and other online services. The mobile application has received more than 5 000 downloads on Android-providing app stores.
