Agrility

Decision-support tool for yield estimation and crop monitoring

Description

Agrility is a decision-support tool that identifies field zones with potential yield potential, monitors crop development, and provides daily update of the yield estimate through latest weather data. The tool provides assistance from sowing to harvest through spatial information. Agrility has a dedicated team of experts that work on big data, geostatistics, agronomics, modelling, and IT-related systems to enhance precision farming. Agrility supports the growing of maize, oil seed rape, wheat, barley, fodder grass, and sunflower.

Technology

  • Cloud
  • Desktop/web-based application
  • GIS
  • GPS
  • Mobile app
  • Remote sensing

Agrility has three mobile versions, namely Agriliity DENSITY assisting in the identification high yield potential zones, Agrility VEGETATION that assists in early detection of problem in stressed crop areas, and Agrility YIELD that informs farmers to take action in order to preseve yield potential of the crops. The solution integrates remote sensing, GIS, GPS, and cloud-based technologies into a web platform and mobile applications. Farmers access field insights through satellite imagery combined with advisory algorithms that provide growth monitoring, intra-field variability analysis, and harvest readiness indicators. The system includes mobile applications compatible with Android devices, enabling farmers to access real-time information in the field.

Target

  • Large size farms
  • Medium size farms

The primary users of the initiative are farmers.

Business model

  • Fee for service

The business model for Agrility is based on a fee-for-service approach. Farmers and advisors access the platform and its digital services through subscription fees, with examples showing access costs of approximately EUR 90 for maize users in certain European countries. Pricing may vary depending on country or crop type.

Impact

The overall aim of the solution is to improve crop productivity and resource efficiency through data-driven farming decisions.
