Integrated farm management application

Description

The AGRIVI Farm Management app is an integrated set of tools that support the management and monitoring of farmlands. The app features farm management software, such as farm insights, farm enterprise, farm advisory, agriculture supply chain, and makes use of sensors and the Internet of Things in support of weather, soil and fleet management. The app has full localization capabilities being adaptable to different units, currencies, countries and languages. It makes use of algorithms that are connected to local databases of pests and diseases, crop protection products and fertilizers, including details of their active ingredients, providing intelligence and insights. Users can plan, track and analyse all of their farming activities in the field, and can access business advice to support their marketing activities. Users can use the app to track, monitor and plan their farm activities and finances based on soil monitoring, weather predictions, pest predictions, vegetation indices, advanced sales, expense tracking and inventory management. The app also offers up-to-date best practices and tips supporting the production of over 100 crops.

AGRIVI is a Cloud-based farm management solution for farmers, food processing companies and other stakeholders in the agri-food value chain. The technology is provided on a software-as-a-service business model and can run on Android, iOS or desktop devices as a fully featured web-based farm management solution, with a mobile and tablet app that operates as an extension. The solution can also be deployed on premise to customer’s infrastructure to meet specific corporate security policies. The app combines the following capabilities: a fully featured Fleet Management and Tracking Software (FMS) app covering both the agronomic and business side of farming; and an agronomic knowledge base that is continuously updated based on big-data analyses of grower data, allowing the identification of the productivity drivers of the best performers, which are then passed on to all growers. The app provides insights on agricultural production (yield analysis, profit analysis, cost analysis) based on the crop, variety and field, and predictive analytics based on machine learning to produce pest alerts, weather alerts and regular activity plans, identifying, for example, the most suitable time to fertilize, spray, etc. It also features an offline mode that supports growers with operations in remote areas.

The app has been made more accessible to multiple actors along the value chain (farmers, development organizations/NGOs, food processing companies, banks, input manufacturers, ), and it currently has more than 30 00etc.0 users in more than 150 countries around the world. The software is available in more than 10 languages.

AGRIVI applies a subscription-based business model that can be accessed by contacting the sales team. The app can be accessed using the login details provided to the user by the sales team. In some cases, the subscriptions of smallholder farmers may be supported by development organizations or NGOs, according to AGRIVI’s website.

Impact

According to their website, AGRIVI seeks to change the way food is produced, and to positively impact 1 billion lives by helping farmers achieve sustainable, resource-efficient and profitable production. Since its establishment in 2013, the company has worked in agricultural value chains that include Driscoll’s, Nestle, Kimberly Clark, World Bank, BNP Paribas, Helvetas and the Ministry of Agriculture Croatia. The app can support the optimization of production by encouraging the use of best practices in agriculture, the protection of crops and yields through automated pest and disease detection in every field, and the achievement of better lives through sustainable and profitable agricultural production. In a case study of Telehuz Agriserv (a leading farming enterprise) using AGRIVI in Romania, it was reported that “The real-time insights into crop progress, the powerful farm analytics module and the finances module  were found to be especially useful, enabling Telehuz Agriserv to make better decisions with the support of AGRIVI software that ultimately improves the company’s bottom line”. AGRIVI also helped expedite the company’s agricultural digitalization process.
