AITS (СИОЖ)

Animal identification and tracking system

Description

The Animal Identification and Traceability System (AITS) is a platform designed to record data on identified animals, including their movements, owners, farms, and veterinary and sanitary conditions. It aims to promote interaction, efficiency, and transparency for veterinarians, livestock owners, and government entities. The system uses unique identifiers to ensure that each animal is distinctly tracked, enabling detailed documentation of their location, farm, and veterinary status. Current services offered by AITS include animal registration and deregistration, tracking the number of registered animals by region and village, recording animal arrivals and removals, checking animal details, finding local veterinarians, and verifying the authenticity of veterinary documents.

Technology

  • Website
  • Mobile app

AITS can be accessed via a web-based platform or a mobile application running on Android. To obtain relevant services, users need to input data such as the animal's identification number, address, or upload documents. The user interface and functionalities vary depending on the user type: administrator, private veterinarian, laboratory worker, or district veterinary inspector. The platform's content is available in Kyrgyz and Russian languages. The mobile application enables users to receive, manage and modify health plans for specific animals, vaccination schedules, manage tags, access animal profiles, record laboratory test results, and generate reports.

Target

  • Public sector
  • Private sector

The users of the AITS include Administrators, who are central office employees with access to manage and configure all aspects of the system, such as searching for animals, managing tags, and handling user permissions and reports. District veterinary inspectors coordinate health plans and activities at the district level, review and approve plans, and ensure local compliance. Laboratory workers focus on managing laboratory inventories, recording results, and maintaining related directories. Private Veterinarians handle notifications, tasks, and the movement of meat and more.

Business model

  • Fully free

The use of AITS is free of charge as the platform and mobile application are funded by the Government of Kyrgyz Republic.

Impact

AITS supports enhanced animal health and welfare through detailed tracking and documentation of animal health, movements, and veterinary conditions, which ensures timely vaccinations and health plans. It increases efficiency by streamlining processes related to animal management, reducing administrative burdens, and improving operational efficiency for veterinarians and government entities. Additionally, AITS promotes transparency by providing clear records of animal health and movements, which supports better compliance with veterinary regulations and enhances the credibility of veterinary practices and government oversight.
