The “Digital Transformation of Bulgaria for the 2020–2030 Period” document has defined 17 areas considered crucial for the country's digital development up to 2030, including agriculture, digital infrastructure, cyber security, research and innovation, education and training, labour market adaptation, the digital economy, etc.

The strategy’s plans for agriculture and rural areas include upskilling programmes, as well as support for the design and adoption of digital technologies to contribute to the development of the digital infrastructure for communication and connectivity. The strategy further promotes investments into precision agriculture technologies and the use of software applications for business management, while also emphasizing awareness raising and the provision of training and advisory services to enhance the digital skills and qualifications in the sector.
