Establishing a K-Farm with Seedling and Production System in Tashkent

Description

The EPIS Smart Farm ODA Project establishes a demonstration K-Farm in Tashkent to support seedling propagation and horticultural production within climate-controlled greenhouse facilities. The project aims to strengthen agricultural productivity and capacity in Uzbekistan by introducing smart-farm technologies and delivering technical training for local agronomists, farmers and advisory services.

The project applies greenhouse automation supported by environmental sensors, IoT-connected control units and cloud-based monitoring systems. Digital dashboards and mobile applications are used for operational management, data logging and training purposes, while GIS tools support facility planning and layout design.

The project is funded through official development assistance provided by the Government of the Republic of Korea via EPIS. Smart-farm equipment, technical assistance and training are delivered to local partners at no cost during the project period.

Impact

The project supports the introduction of smart nursery and production practices in Uzbekistan through a demonstration greenhouse and associated training activities. It contributes to improved technical capacity in seedling propagation and controlled-environment agriculture, with outcomes to be assessed through project monitoring and evaluation during and after implementation.
