Description
The Farm and Client Register is a digital administrative system managed by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The register records data on agricultural holdings, farmers and beneficiaries of agricultural support measures, serving as a central reference for policy implementation, subsidy management, and sector monitoring.
Technology
The system operates as a centralized digital database accessible through a web-based interface. It enables the structured collection, storage and management of data related to farms, agricultural producers, and support beneficiaries, supporting administrative processes and reporting by public authorities.
Target
The register serves public authorities responsible for agricultural policy implementation and farmers who are required to register to access agricultural support measures. It supports administrative oversight, eligibility verification, and monitoring of agricultural activities. As of November 2020, the Farm and Client Register recorded 82 035 farm holdings and clients, of which 78 291 were family farm holdings and 3 744 were legal entities and crafts. A total of 115 226.5 hectares of arable agricultural land was registered in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Registration and data updating were carried out across 79 municipalities of the Federation.
Business model
Farm and Client Register is maintained by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina; access and registration are offered free of charge in line with agricultural legislation.
Impact
Farm and Client Register aims to standardize beneficiary identification for direct payments and rural development measures, improves coverage and consistency of farm data and streamline administration across 79 municipalities, supporting evidence-based sector management.
