Leilão a Bordo is an online auction app that supports the digitization of fish sales, linking buyers directly with the adherent boat with the goal of streamlining the initial sale process and unlocking new business opportunities. The digital auction system allows buyers to bid on national boat catches from fish registration at sea to their sale on land. The app promotes fish traceability and brings together stakeholders in the value chain, while smart labelling ensures product quality and provides consumers with comprehensive fish data, aiding them in making informed choices.

Leilão a Bordo combines blockchain and AI technologies in its e-marketplace, and is accessible via a website or mobile application, with different mobile applications for fishermen (available through Google Play Store) and buyers (available through Apple App Store  and Google Play Store). Fishermen are linked to buyers from their boats using via an enhanced 4G connection, and input their catch data, with the option of fixed pricing or auction-based sales. The app uses blockchain for such features as smart contracts, KYC processes, data encryption and security, and the blockchain-secured system facilitates traceability via a QR code on packaging. Customers’ product searches and purchases are facilitated by AI and automation, which also provide supply-demand forecasts to fishermen.
