Description
SinaSens offers a variety of modular capacitive sensors capable of measuring soil, air, and leaf humidity and temperature. Data are transmitted via Sigfox/LoRa and visualized on the web/cloud platform, enabling real-time local monitoring to support irrigation, disease prevention, and resource optimization.
Technology
Each kit includes capacitive sensors that can monitor soil & air humidity, temperature, and leaf wetness that are all supported by GPS locations. The sensors are connected to a transmitter with GPS, Sigfox communication, and contain a multi-year battery. The system sends periodic measurements, enables alerts via email/API downloads, and integrates with farm management systems.
Target
The initiative caters to the needs of smallholder farmers as well as medium to large-size farm owners.
Business model
The sensors are sold or leased, with additional advisory services for financing, installation, and training. The pricing ranges from EUR 424 perkit, with optional subscription to cloud interface and API access. Farmers are also eligible for subsidies under the French FranceAgriMer scheme.
Impact
SinaSens aims to help farmers optimize their water resources and improve the quality of their production by anticipating risks such as diseases and pests, among others.
