TUMO Labs AgriTech Incubation Program
AgriTech technology incubation programme
Description
TUMO Labs AgriTech Incubation Program is a technology incubation project that supports young adults in Armenia to develop AgriTech startup ideas through an intensive ideation and mentoring process. The programme provides structured training, coaching and business model development to help teams design digital agriculture solutions. Ideation Kickoff is a 48-hour event where up to 60 participants are selected and evaluated on leadership and teamwork, followed by an Incubation Adventure phase lasting 12 weeks in which six leaders form teams and use market research and user feedback to shape AgriTech ideas. Market Entry Support provides three to six months of mentoring for up to three finalists, while comprehensive support spans all stages through business model refinement, pitch preparation, and guidance on digital tools and acceleration options.
Technology
TUMO Labs AgriTech Incubation Program is organized into four core stages that structure the technology incubation process. Across these stages, participants build digital and entrepreneurial skills, including ideation and problem framing, user research and market validation, and basic product development skills such as coding and prototyping. The programme also covers business fundamentals such as business model design, go-to-market planning, budgeting, and pitching, supported by mentoring and feedback from experts. Based on the featured teams, solutions commonly use technologies such as mobile apps, GPS, tracking, sensors, hardware, and in some cases Artificial intelligence and Machine learning.
Target
TUMO Labs targets individuals aged 18 and above from across Armenia, including university students, early-career professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs. The programme ultimately aims to benefit rural communities and smallholder farmers.
Business model
TUMO Labs AgriTech Incubation Program is funded through a grant from the Department of State Public Diplomacy Section, complemented by support from TUMO Labs. Participation in the ideation and incubation is free of charge for selected applicants, who receive USD 1250 per team in structured incubation support. The programme further supports up to three finalists with pre-acceleration, early adopter outreach and applications to external acceleration schemes, and provides an additional USD 10 000 funding opportunity for one finalist team to advance implementation.
Impact
TUMO Labs aims to create a pipeline of digital agriculture ventures that strengthen farm productivity, improve resource use, and connect early-stage solutions. The programme supports teams through hybrid online and in-person workshops supporting development and preparation of investor-ready pitches.
