AgroConnect
Agricultural data interoperability standards network
Description
AgroConnect is a collaborative network that develops and maintains agricultural data standards to enable seamless, interoperable information exchange across the agri-food supply chain. The initiative addresses the challenge of fragmented and incompatible data systems by establishing common data models, identifiers, and protocols.
Technology
The type of standards that are promoted by AgroConnect are standard data models; standard interface definitions (EDI-messages, API’s) for data interchange; standards for identifying farms, persons, crop fields, animal, batches; all type of standard code lists, e.g. for crop types, soil types, animal types, etc.; standard protocols for data exchange. These tools support interoperability between farm management systems, supply chain platforms, and other digital agriculture services.
Target
The members of the AgroConnect association are companies and organisations that trade goods, services, products and produce with farmers. This includes input providers, agricultural cooperatives, the food processing industry, solution providers, advisory services, accountant offices, governmental organisations, etc.
Business model
AgroConnect operates as a non-profit, funded through membership fees. Standards are available free to members.
Impact
The overall aim is to enhance data interoperability, traceability, and supply chain coordination in agriculture.
