Agroportal Kosovo is a web-based app that offers three unique features such as Agro Data, a collection of information about trees, vegetables, vineyards, cereals, businesses, grants, banking activities among others. Farm Calculator that farmers can use to calculate production and seasonality for fruits and vegetables, and lastly the Ask the Expert option offering personalised advice from experts with expected response within 72 hours. The features include access to the Marketplace B2b which is embedded on the AgroPortal interface.

For smallholder farmers and their partners in particular, the portal aims to break down information barriers, helping them boost yields, avoid losses, adopt improved technologies, and make smarter, better-informed decisions.

AgroPortal Kosovo is a free of charge web based online service. Its business model relies primarily on grant funding provided by KEP Trust, supported by small-scale revenue streams such as sponsorships, premium visibility services, and training programs.

Impact

At a sector level, the Agroportal aims at strengthening value chains by connecting farmers with suppliers, advisors, and buyers through the AGRO B2B platform, with the primary goal to support the development of more competitive and integrated agri-markets. It also intends to enhance climate resilience by offering timely information on pests, diseases, weather variability, and sustainable practices such as water efficiency, soil health, and organic cultivation. For youth, women, and newcomers to agriculture, AgroPortal seeks to democratize access to knowledge and lower the barriers to entering farming, enabling these groups to easier get involved in agriculture and start up agribusinesses.
