Central Asia and Caucasus (CAC) Geoportal is a geospatial information platform that aggregates climate, environmental, and agricultural data into an accessible online interface. The platform enables users to visualise, analyse, and interpret spatial information relevant to agriculture, land use, and climate variability. By providing harmonised data layers and mapping tools. The portal supports evidence-based planning policy development and agricultural decision making in the Central Asia region.
Technology
The platform uses cloud-based GIS infrastructure for remote sensing inputs and web mapping technologies to deliver interactive spatial data. Users can access layered maps with analytical tools and datasets through a browser-based interface that supports exploration comparison and data driven assessment of climate and agricultural conditions. The platform also enables users to register as GIS professionals, decision makers, or somebody who is new to GIS technologies, where users can access online trainings on geospatial mapping, field operations, spatial analysis, and real-time visualization among others.
Target
The geoportal serves government institutions, researchers, development practitioners, farm advisors and organisations involved in agriculture climate analysis and land management.
