Description
Daftari dekhon is a mobile application that features a calculator for profit, costs, and amount of fertilizer needed for production, assisting farmers in Tajikistan with financial and resource record-keeping. Additionally, users can also receive advice on crop care and aid in communicating with suppliers of materials and agricultural services as well as manufacturers of agricultural products.
Technology
The mobile application is available for Android device users. Upon opening an account, users can fill out basic information such as the crop type and the plot area. The app users can also input the yield, amount of fertilizers, expenses, and sales, enabling the calculation of profit.
Target
Daftari dekhon’s primary users are smallholder farmers to medium size farms. As of June 2025, the app has been downloaded over 1 000 times.
Business model
The mobile application can be downloaded free of charge. The development of the mobile app was supported by GIZ, CBER Sugd Corporation and the European Union.
Impact
There is no strong evidence of the impact of this initiative available online. However, Daftari dekhon can potentially enhance financial literacy using a structured recordkeeping the mobile app offers and strengthen the link between farmers and suppliers of materials and services for agriculture, and manufacturers of agricultural products.
