Description
Food Confidence is a blockchain-based traceability system that identifies, monitors and aids in the resolution of supply chain problems instantaneously for the benefit of multiple actors. The system makes use of blockchain technologies to alert actors in real time of any risks or non-compliances. The system comprises multiple technologies and modules that independently digitize, standardize, audit, track and trace, measure and monetize food data for the immediate benefit of a business. Food Confidence currently offers six modules, and a further module is under development. The different modules, which can be used all together or separately, are priced based on the selected package, being: FoodTwin Generator, LiveAudit, LiveTrack, LiveScan, CSR Analyzer, Fresh Origin and FoodTwin Exchange (in development), all of which come with training and support. Food Twin Generator converts unstructured food data into standardized digital twins automatically through a live dashboard. LiveAudit delivers real-time quality assurance through batch compliance checks as a replacement for manual audits in agribusiness. The tool also simplifies supplier vetting and automatically verifies product and supplier attributes for safety and customer satisfaction. LiveTrack offers real-time, batch-level traceability to food supply chain managers, following the food to accurately map the real-time, real-world journeys of the ingredients and finished products. LiveScan offers a simple approach through which food brands can connect with consumers using dynamic data. By scanning the label, consumers can access batch-level, consumer-friendly details about the real history of a food product. The CSR Analyzer automatically calculates Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), sustainability, and other Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics based on real-time, end-to-end supply chain data. FreshOrigin allows retailers to inform shoppers exactly where their unpackaged produce is sourced, spotlighting upstream farmers and producers.
Technology
The application uses a Hyperledger Fabric baseline technology, combined with proprietary smart modules (LiveAudit) to track products in real-time and automate auditing procedures. It applies a combination of blockchain and smart modules, such as LiveAudit, supporting real-time digital supply chain auditing and allowing for end-to-end food chain traceability. FreshOrigin uses QR code technologies to show shoppers the exact sources of their food.

Live Audit is available with a 30-day free trial, and FoodTwin Generator is free to organizations that the company deems appropriate. All solutions include integrated technical support.
Impact
This data-driven traceability system was founded by two experts with over 40 years of collective experience in the food sector. The developed technologies address many of the challenges encountered in achieving end-to-end traceability. In the world of fragmented supply chains and non-digitized systems, the website suggests that the system can meet the emerging and urgent needs for a more efficient audit and traceability system, especially as new legislation takes effect around the world. The Food Confidence app introduced LiveAudit, a real-time digital auditing tool enhanced with blockchain technologies, to improve the food industry’s audit cycles, ensuring data accuracy and identifying non-compliances in real time, thereby improving food safety and reducing waste. In the short term, clients using this app gain comprehensive supply chain traceability, and aggregated and standardized data in one secure hub. This allows the rapid adaptation to consumer demands for knowledge of product origin and quality. In the long term, users can digitize their supply chains and make real-time data-driven decisions.
