Description
The Green Heritage portal was developed to facilitate the revitalization of forests. It offers open information on planted trees, including details by region and type, boundaries of allotments for new plantings, and updates on the status of existing plantings. The portal also provides information about volunteers who have planted trees, the number of trees planted, and details about donors. The portal features an interactive map that allows volunteers to select suitable planting sites, where they will be assigned a location to plant seedlings. The portal is equipped with a carbon neutralization calculator. Additionally, it allows individuals and organizations to register as volunteers for tree planting and includes a functionality for making donations to support future planting efforts.
Technology
The Green Heritage is a web-based portal. Its interactive map utilizes Google Maps as its base. The map highlights areas where planting is needed, including information on the types of trees to be planted. It also displays locations of already planted forests. Potential volunteers can select these areas and apply to plant seedlings. The application form submitted through the portal is reviewed by forest service staff, who will then contact the volunteers using the provided contact details. After the planting is completed, information about the volunteers and their activities will be available on the portal’s main page. This includes details on the planting site, species and number of seedlings, and photographs of the work. The portal might not be accessible from some locations.
Target
The main users of the platform are general public, civil society organizations and private sector entities that are interested in planting forests, and government entities such as the Forst Service responsible for managing and overseeing the planting activities.

The use of the Green Heritage portal is free of charge.
Impact
