Le Court Circuit

Aggregator marketplace for farmer products

Description

Le Court Circuit is a digital short-food-supply-chain platform that connects consumers in the Hauts-de-France region with local farmers and artisans, enabling online ordering of fresh, seasonal regional products such as fruits, vegetables, dairy, bakery, meats, beverages and pantry goods without pre-set boxes or subscriptions. The products can be picked up at a local collection point or delivered to the doorstep.

Technology

  • E-commerce/online marketplace
  • E-payment

Le Court Circuit operates through a web-based marketplace platform where producers list products and set prices, and consumers select a local point of collection or home delivery zone, build their basket, pay online and retrieve or receive purchases during chosen time slots. Producers and collection point managers access dashboards to manage stock, orders and logistics; the platform retains a commission on sales and integrates payment security and order notifications.

Target

  • Food consumers
  • Smallholder farmers

The main users of Le Court Circuit are food consumers and smallholder farmers. As of February 2026, Le Court Circuit supplies produce from 49 local farmers.

Business model

  • Markup

Le Court Circuit’s business model supports local direct sales from producers to consumers without pre-defined subscription boxes; consumers pay for items they choose, and the platform charges producers a commission (~16.67 percent) on sold products as its revenue. Collection point managers retain a small share (around 5.17 percent) for handling orders and pickups, which helps cover logistics. Costs to the consumer include product prices set by producers and delivery fees. The marketplace platform has also received project-based funding from the Métropole Européenne de Lille and local support programs.

Impact

Le Court Circuit aims to enhance local food systems by boosting producer visibility, offering fairer remuneration to farmers by reducing intermediaries, and enabling consumers to access fresh regional products with known origin and production methods. The marketplace aims to reduce food miles and foster community ties at collection points.
