Nation in Action

Platform for youth education, entrepreneurship and professional development

Description

Nation in Action is a non-formal education and entrepreneurship platform that supports youth in Armenia to develop AgriTech startup ideas. Nation in Action operates as a non-profit platform funded by UNDP, EU-funded initiatives and innovation facilities. AgriTech programmes are free of charge for selected participants and provide competition funding to winning teams.

Impact

Nation in Action aims to promote youth entrepreneurship through improvement of skills, and strengthened stakeholder capacities, including new internship mechanisms, activate public-private cooperation to foster knowledge transfer and increase stakeholders’ social responsibility, and contribute to building a more inclusive and developed community. Reports mention more than 300 hours of training, three incubation cycles, and over 1000 participants. One EU-GAIA-supported startup call attracted 10 green agriculture companies and selected three winners: a digital irrigation control app, a digital platform for agricultural extension and a circular solution turning coffee grounds into biodegradable organic fertilizer.
