AgriKolis is an online platform connecting farmers and logistic operators to facilitate the rental farm space in support of delivery operations. Farmers can register their available space on the online platform for rental to logistic operators looking to establish storage or collection points in remote rural areas. The platform thus generates new revenue sources for farmers through the rental of their unutilized farm space, while logistic operators can increase their options for the distribution and storage of goods.
Technology
The online platform features a data collection and visualization tool supporting the comparison of information and the geolocalization of farm rental spaces. Once the farm is registered, it is geolocalized based on its GPS integration, which also allows the tracking of the delivery status of packages. The online platform is also integrated with such instant messaging platforms as Messenger, through which users can reach an operator in the event of problems or questions.
Target
The main users of the platform are farmers of any size with space available for the storage and collection of packages. To become a member of the platform, farmers must meet the following criteria: 1) being a farmer; 2) having a closed and secure storage area measuring more than 50 m2; 3) having the means to unload goods, such as a telescopic trolley or pallet truck; 4) able to take deliveries of parcels once or twice a week (fixed day and 2-hour slots); 5) able to ensure the collection of packages by customers for at least 2 hours at the end of the day, at a minimum of 4 times a week. The other potential users are the logistic operators, who can rely on the capillary presence of farmers distributed in remote rural areas, as well as the rural dwellers and organizations that the farms to collect their packages.

The platform’s website reports that 305 farms are currently registered as landing spaces in the AgriKolis network, and that 640 000 packages have been dealt with through the platform, while 1000 clients are served each day. Numerous testimonials on the website state that the platform provides an additional revenue stream that does not place a major additional load on farmers.
