Description
Aragil integrates technologies like drones and satellite data to transform farming practices. Through real-time aerial monitoring, Aragil offers precise field mapping, 3D modeling, and vegetation index calculations, empowering farmers with actionable insights for enhanced crop management. Leveraging GIS, GPS, and advanced analytics, the initiative addresses challenges in agriculture, providing solutions for efficient land use, crop health monitoring, and yield forecasting. Particularly, Aragil uses aerial photography by drones in both visible and thermal environments to get up-to-date information whenever it is necessary, to draw electronic maps of the fields, as well as 3D models, carry out monitoring of lands, crops, harvest and irrigation systems, calculate the vegetation index, forecast the crop yield, find erosive, dry or wet soils, control the quality of work during harvest gathering.
Technology
Aragil leverages drones, GIS, GPS, and satellite data. Drones are employed for real-time aerial monitoring, capturing high-resolution images and facilitating precision agriculture. GIS technology is applied for electronic mapping, allowing the creation of accurate spatial representations of fields. GPS ensures precise field coordinates. The integration of European Sentinel 2A Satellite data enables the calculation of the NDVI vegetation index, providing insights into crop health and growth patterns.
Target
The main users of Aragil's solution may include smallholder farmers, medium-sized and large-scale farms, farm advisors, and possibly entities in the public and private sectors involved in agriculture. The solution's versatility suggests applicability across various user categories.
Business model
After registration, the user receives test access to the account. Duration of test access is 21 days. Use of the platform is Rubbles 100 per year per hectare of cultivated area, excluding VAT. The cost of implementation and integration with the current IT infrastructure of the enterprise depends on the scope of work.
Impact
By enabling real-time aerial monitoring and precise mapping, Aragil’s solution facilitates informed decision-making for farmers. This can potentially lead to enhanced crop management practices, improved pest control, and optimized resource utilization, contributing to increased agricultural productivity. The utilization of the NDVI vegetation index for crop health monitoring and yield forecasting may bring more resilient and sustainable farming practices. This data-driven approach aims at not only aiding precision farming but also supporting environmental conservation by reducing unnecessary resource use. The solution could empower smaller farmers with tools traditionally reserved for larger enterprises, fostering a more equitable distribution of technological benefits within the agricultural sector.
