Digital Readiness Assessment

National survey-based tool assessment about digital ecosystem preparedness

Description

Digital Readiness Assessment is a survey-based resource developed by UNDP North Macedonia in partnership with national governance agencies to provide rapid, high-level insights into the country’s digital ecosystem strengths and opportunities. The survey is split into seven sections: perspectives on the digital foundational catalysts, infrastructure, government, regulation, business, people, and socio-demographic questions.

Technology

  • Desktop/web-based application
  • Big data
  • Cloud

The assessment is conducted through a desktop/web-based survey tool, gathering mixed-method responses across seven pillars—foundational catalysts, infrastructure, government, regulation, business, people, and socio-demographic variables—to generate real-time digital ecosystem insights.

Target

  • Public sector
  • Civil society organizations
  • Private sector
  • Rural communities
  • Food consumers

The resource targets national and local government stakeholders, private sector actors (including business associations), civil society organizations, and the citizens in general, gathering multisectoral input on digital readiness.

Business model

  • Fully free

The assessment is freely available, funded and supported by UNDP, national ministries, and international partners, with no cost to participants.

Impact

The Digital Readiness Assessment aims to serve as an entry point to improve coordination and clarity to drive a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach to digital transformation. This is crucial in achieving digital inclusion, ensuring that no one is left behind from the potential of digital, and enabling countries to leverage digital to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
