Activities combine learn-by-doing on farms with coaching on good practices, business skills and compliance, and increasingly include sessions that introduce farm digitalization and climate adaptation as part of modern advisory services.

Training is anchored in demonstration assets that showcase climate-smart and automation solutions such as rainwater collection for irrigation, insect and shading nets, and automated climate and ventilation management in protected cultivation. Where relevant, IADK complements hands-on demos with digital tools used by advisors and farmers to plan, record, and monitor farm operations and improve decision-making.

Primary beneficiaries are farmers and rural agri-food actors—especially smallholders—reached through advisory visits, trainings and study visits across multiple municipalities. The programme applies an inclusion lens, with tailored training and study visits for women and girls including in food processing and opportunities for youth via internships and skills development linked to employment pathways.

Delivery is financed mainly through externally funded projects and partnerships, with IADK implementing defined workplans (trainings, advisory services, demonstrations, grants and study visits) under donor-supported programmes. The model is reinforced by its formal role in the advisory ecosystem, including re-licensing by MAFRD for agricultural advisory services, enabling structured service delivery and collaboration with public institutions.

Documented outputs include large-scale learning exposure such as 40 study visits with 525 participants, with women representing 52 percent, multiple training formats through VET, soft skills and technical trainings, and high relevance to the national digital skills gap where a FAO–IADK survey (2022) found 96 percent of respondents were unaware of any digital-skills capacity development programmes. Other reported results include high volumes of field advisory and structured learning: 2,140 direct field advices, 151 VET trainings with 201 participants with 103 certified trainees, and 27 technical trainings attended by119 participants, alongside 40 study visits.
