National Disaster Risk Management Project

National Disaster Risk Management Project is a project designed to strengthen disaster preparedness and mainstream disaster risk management in Tajikistan. The project supports institutional reforms, hazard mapping, early warning and response systems, and the development of climate-resilient infrastructure to reduce economic losses and displacement caused by natural hazards, directly benefiting rural communities and the agricultural sector.

Description

National Disaster Risk Management Project is a project designed to strengthen disaster preparedness and mainstream disaster risk management in Tajikistan. The project supports institutional reforms, hazard mapping, early warning and response systems, and the development of climate-resilient infrastructure to reduce economic losses and displacement caused by natural hazards, directly benefiting rural communities and the agricultural sector.

The project is financed through grant funding from the Asian Development Bank, with counterpart contributions from the Government of Tajikistan. Technical assistance, analytical work and capacity-building activities are provided to national institutions as part of project implementation.

National Disaster Risk Management Project has supported the preparation of national, sub-national, and sector-wise disaster risk management plans, enhanced hazard mapping and early warning systems, and provided resilient shelters and essential services for displaced persons. The project aims to reduce economic losses and displacement from natural hazards and enhance the resilience of vulnerable communities in Tajikistan.
