Description
pOsti is a blockchain-based app and mobile app that facilitate the complete traceability of all stages of a product's value chain. A pilot project was launched in May 2020 for the tracking of a beer product, following th44 journey from barley seed to bottle.
Technology
Data are gathered and transcribed within an open-source blockchain app from throughout the supply chain and can be tracked through the dashboard of a mobile application. Restaurateurs and food consumers can access the history of the product by scanning a QR code on the product itself, which provides access to detailed product information.
Target
The direct users are food producers and restaurateurs who have installed the pOsti mobile app and dashboard for product traceability, while the end users are the food consumers who can access product information through the dashboard or via the QR code.
Business model
As of August 2022, three blockchain traceability system packages were on offer, varying in terms of the number of products and features accessed. The fees for the maintenance of the system and blockchain transactions in subsequent years are equal to 20 percent of the setup fee.
Impact
The blockchain-powered traceability ensures transparency, security, and a stronger bond between the producer and consumer.
