Programme promoting safe agricultural industries and strengthening food security in Belarus
Description
The State Agrarian Business of Belarus 2021–2025 programme was launched to strengthen food security in Belarus by increasing the cost efficiency of agro-industrial complexes and fostering the development of a competitive and ecologically safe agricultural sector, assuring good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle for the general public, while also supporting the preservation and development of rural zones.
Technology
The policy calls for the development of information and communication technologies and telecommunications through the use of resource-saving technologies, leading to reduced material and labour costs through the reduction of resource-intensive products, increased labour force productivity and greater efficiency in crop production.
Target
The public and private sectors are envisaged to benefit from their access to information and statistics related to food production strategies and available sources of funding, while academia can benefit from the statistics and information related to crop production.
Impact
The state policy provides information on crop production strategies targeting reduced material usage, decreased labour costs and improved product quality, thus fostering competitiveness in the internal and external markets.
