Tajikistan Preparedness and Resilience to Disasters Project

The Tajikistan Preparedness and Resilience to Disasters Project is a public investment initiative supported by the World Bank to strengthen disaster preparedness, emergency response capacity and resilience of critical infrastructure in Tajikistan. The project focuses on improving institutional capacity for disaster risk management and enhancing readiness to respond to natural hazards.

The project supports the strengthening of disaster management information and communication systems, including improvements to emergency communication networks and institutional information systems used for preparedness, coordination, and response. The focus is on public-sector systems rather than user-facing digital services.

The project targets national and sub-national public institutions responsible for emergency and disaster management, as well as communities affected by natural hazards in Tajikistan.

• Donor support

The project is financed through public investment with support from World Bank financing instruments. It does not operate on a commercial basis and does not provide fee-based services to end users.

The project contributes to strengthened institutional capacity for disaster preparedness and response in Tajikistan. By improving disaster risk management systems and emergency communication infrastructure, it supports enhanced coordination, preparedness and resilience to natural hazards.
