Drones for precision agriculture

Description

Drones by Agrodrone’s are used for precise field spraying of chemicals enabling accurate and efficient input use, reducing chemical waste, and minimizing soil compaction by eliminating the need for traditional ground-based machinery. This results in lower operational costs for farmers while preserving soil health. The drones can spray up to 1 hectare per hour, improving time efficiency compared to conventional methods. To request this service, users must place a call or submit an application through the “Farmer’s Personal Account” mobile application. Within 1-2 hours, Agrodrone.kg specialists will contact the user to confirm order details, including field size, required treatments, and preferred scheduling. At the scheduled time, a drone operator will arrive on-site with the agrodrone, necessary technical equipment, and water. The operator will then define the field boundaries and conduct preparatory work. The farmer is responsible for providing details on the treatment preparation and the application rate per hectare. The drone operator will prepare the solution and perform the spraying of the field.

Technology

  • GPS
  • Remote sensing
  • Sensor
  • Drone

The mobile application “Farmer’s Personal Account” using which a customer can place an order for spraying services runs both on Android and IOS. Additionally, the mobile app allows to calculate the cost of the service. The drones used by Agrodrone.kg are manufactured by TT Aviation. In terms of flying capabilities, the agrodrone offers a full payload flying time of 6 to 12 minutes. It can achieve flying speeds up to 15 m/s, with a flight radius of up to 1.5 km and a maximum flying height of 3500 meters. Navigation utilizes the Global Positioning System (GPS) and the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). This allows operators to remotely set flight paths via the ground control system, with options for both manual and automatic route planning. The drone is equipped with ranging sensors, obstacle avoidance radars, a first-person view camera, and a terrain-following radar. These features enable the drone to adapt to changes in terrain height, maintaining a constant distance from the ground to ensure both efficient and safe operations. Additionally, it utilizes real-time kinematic (RTK) technology for enhanced positioning accuracy.

Target

  • Medium size farms
  • Large size farms
  • Agriculture cooperatives

The primary users of Agrodrone.kg are large-scale, medium-sized farms, as well as agricultural cooperatives involved in open field crop production, typically managing at least a few hectares of cultivated land.

Business model

  • One time purchase

The service can be obtained for 1200 KGS (15 USD) per hectare of land. The service includes a consultation, delivery of the drone, service of the drone, service of the drone operator and water.

Impact

Agrodrone.kg provides drone-based spraying services that ensure precise application of chemicals, optimizing their use. The drones reduce costs by using 20 times less working fluid per hectare and eliminate the need for water supply and ground equipment. They can significantly save time, covering up to 6 hectares of land in just one hour. The drones effectively reach hard-to-access areas and avoid soil compaction, maintaining efficient operations without impacting soil health.
