E-Register of Plant Cultivars
Online Registration system for plant cultivars
Description
E-Register of Plant Cultivars is a web-based platform that provides official up-to-date information on plant varieties that are registered and approved in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The initiative serves as a platform where validated data from national authorities is continuously updated to support agricultural planning, covering cereals, beet, oil and fibre plants, vegetables, potato, fodder plants, grapevine and fruit plants.
Technology
The system runs as a cloud-based web application accessible through any desktop or mobile browser with internet connection. Users can search different plant cultivars such as fruit, vegetables, crops by species, name, and status, access regulatory details, and verify whether a variety is legally recognized for production and trade.
Target
E-Register of Plant Cultivars serves farmers, advisors, seed companies, researchers, and public authorities who need reliable information on approved plant cultivars. Smallholder farmers can easily check which varieties are legally registered and suitable for use.
Business model
The system is fully free to use and publicly funded by the government. All data is provided as a public service.
Impact
The platform aims to support transparency, reduce administrative workload for authorities, and help farmers and advisors choose compliant cultivars to avoid unapproved varieties. By improving access to reliable data, the system contributes to better production planning and more consistent market standards.
