FoodTrack
Software supporting online sales of the vegetables, fruit and products of local producers
DescriptionOverview of the initiative and its approach.
FoodTrack is an online platform featuring multiple software through which local producers can connect with consumers. The platform hosts e-commerce functions; individual business websites/online boutiques; and decision support tools for the management of logistics and payments. Producers are chosen carefully and must provide relevant documents on offered products, although the registration process is simple once the provided information has been verified. The seller lists his/her address and delivery preferences, and can list his/her products online after validation by the site administrators. Home delivery or drop-off points, such as a specific market, can be arranged with the consumer, considerably reducing transport costs, or the customer can collect their order directly from the producer's store if the latter has a fixed point of sale. Foodtrack.fr arranges the delivery once a purchase has been made. Regardless of the delivery choice of the seller, orders are paid online and prepared only after the payment has been received.
