Description

Agrio is a fintech platform for credit, cash and resource management solutions targeting agricultural production actors. Agrio intends to help contracted farming companies manage their production, contracts, inventory flow and treasury through different services such as digital POS systems for merchants, e-wallets for farmers and payment networks for mediatory businesses.

Agrio provides a diverse suite of products and services tailored for the agricultural sector, employing smart contract technology. The offerings include e-commerce management, a cloud-based high-performance infrastructure hosting B2B and B2C electronic commerce applications. Agrio features two specialized information systems: Agrio Farming Management and Agrio Cooperative Management, both equipped with digital contract capabilities, encompassing announcement and production management. Complementing these is Agrio Distributor Network Management, an integrated cash management platform featuring a dedicated product inventory system designed for dealer and distributor networks. Lastly, the Agrio Payment System acts as a comprehensive cash management platform, supporting seamless financial interactions among all stakeholders.

Target

  • Medium size farms
  • Large size farms
  • Public sector
  • Private sector
  • Rural communities

Agrio's solution aims to address a diverse user base, including farmers, contractors, vendors and financial institutions.

Business model

  • Fee for service
  • One time purchase

For the product portfolio, there is no established base price for the tech products. Collaboration occurs with agricultural banks and financial institutions to collectively formulate specific workflows targeting value chain actors, such as cooperatives or contracted farming companies. The solutions necessitate integrations with existing enterprise resource planning tools (ERPs), banking systems, and, frequently, field manpower management tools. The value proposition revolves around governing sustainability by facilitating improved lending models for financial institutions throughout the value chain. Additionally, the solutions are offered virtually at zero cost for consumers.

Impact

The solution aims to reduce financing costs for agricultural holdings including, but not limited to, the purchase of fertilizers, pesticides, agri-feed, equipment, and labor. By increasing input and resource efficiency, Agrio expects to enhance the supply and production chain, leading to improved productivity. Additionally, the initiative aims to preserve added value within production associations, cooperatives, and contractor networks using smart finance tools and digital payment solutions.
