Description
Comerso is a suite of circular economy accelerator solutions supporting the reduction of food waste and the optimization of the use of resources, including logistics solutions for the redistribution of unsold goods to charities, applications for tracking and monitoring donations, and tools for environmental impact assessments.
Technology
Comerso offers a range of five apps designed to simplify the management, sale and donation of unsold goods in stores: C-Don, C-Stick, C-Stats, C-Valo and C-Destock. The C-Don and C-Stick applications have been developed to add value to unsold goods in stores, the first of which optimizes the management, security and traceability of donations of unsold goods to associations, while the second is used for the in-store labelling of short-dated products to speed up their sale. Comerso makes use of Famoco’s FX200 and PX320 mobile devices to host its applications, allowing end-users to scan unsold goods when donating to associations. The terminals, when connected to a Sato printer, facilitate the rapid printing of labels for discounted products and feature an efficient tracking system.
Target
Comerso collaborates with various companies, including supermarkets, food manufacturers and non-food retailers like Decathlon, with a view to extending the shelf-life of unsold goods and reducing the companies’ environmental footprints.
Business model
Costs vary based on the size of the business, the volume of waste and the specific services required. After purchasing the solution, users pay a subscription fee.
Impact
In 2023, Comerso provided 196 million meal equivalents to charitable organizations, saved 116 500 t of goods from disposal and contributed to savings of 73 t CO2 equivalent on average by hypermarkets.
