FarmLEAP is platform for collecting, analyzing, and leveraging agricultural and environmental data designed to foster collective intelligence among farmers through shared data, peer comparison, and the exchange of best practices.
Technology
The technology comprises a web-based, interactive platform that allows farmers to share and compare data, contributing to a collective intelligence model. FarmLEAP has several functional add-ons which can be turned on depending on user needs (farmers, cooperatives, agribusiness, etc.): 1) Technical Module for benchmarking of technical itineraries (crop rotations, input usage, peer comparisons, sharing experience networks, messaging & surveys, optional specific technical reports; 2) Economics Module that tracks mechanization costs, production costs (inputs, labour, machinery), estimates equilibrium prices (historic and prospective), helps users understand profitability by crop and operation; 3) High Environmental Value Module that supports the process for obtaining HVE certification: including parcel management, environmental diagnostics, collective certification, audit preparation, action plans; and others.
Target
FarmLEAP serves farmers, cooperatives, and agribusinesses by helping them make better agronomic and economic decisions. For farmers, it provides tools to benchmark practices and yields against peers, run on-farm trials, reduce costs, and prepare for certifications (e.g., HVE). For the wider agri-food chain, it supports compliance with sustainability standards (e.g., 2BS, RED II) and offers transparent, data-driven performance insights.
