The company's waste-tracking technology helps food service operators reduce food waste and save money, supporting the creation of more sustainable facilities. Leanpath solutions include data collection terminals connected to scales and cameras, cloud-based analytics, and training and coaching services. Leanpath is a Certified B Corporation®, a group of businesses that meets the highest standards in terms of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability, contributing to the balancing of profit and purpose.

The Leanpath solution includes both hardware and software components. The in-kitchen scale and touchscreen hardware measure the discarded food, and results can be tracked via the touchscreen. The software analyses the food waste and alerts the chef when valuable ingredients are thrown away. Ad-hoc strategies can then be developed based on the acquired data to prevent further food waste. Leanpath’s food waste prevention savings calculator uses basic data points to automatically calculate potential savings in terms of value, weight and environmental equivalencies. Leanpath runs on the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and makes use of the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) system pioneered by Google. The OKR of each employee is mapped against the company-wide goals, contributing to a culture in which everyone contributes individually to the overall effectiveness of the company. Leanpath has recently launched a post-consumer food waste tracking solution called Spark for the monitoring of food wasted at a consumer level.
