LEKET

National Food Bank leading food rescue operations

Description

Leket, the national food bank, plays a leading role in food rescue operations in Israel, collecting surplus agricultural produce and prepared meals for redistribution to those in need through partner organizations, and meeting the demand for food and ancillary services through a complete solution. Leket provides charities with rescued food from commercial and agriculture sources and makes bulk purchases of food at significant discounts, leading to savings for charities and more food for the needy, and ultimately, better value for money. Leket works with professional dieticians who conduct nutrition workshops for targeted populations geared toward raising awareness of proper nutrition.
