National e-Agriculture Strategy

Digital Transformation in Agriculture 4.0 (2021-2025)

DescriptionOverview of the initiative and its approach.

Under the "Support to the development of national e-agriculture strategy" project provided through FAO’s Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP/TUR/3703/C2), FAO supported the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) of Türkiye in developing a National E-Agriculture Strategy. The Strategy provides several strategic recommendations: 1) Enhance communication and coordination among critical stakeholders to facilitate cross-sector collaboration; 2) Strengthen policy, legislative, and regulatory frameworks requirements to build sustainable and scalable ICT applications; 3) Identify and develop key databases, their linkages, access, and interoperability to enable building of actionable information services; 4) Improve market access, risk mitigation, disaster management, and logistics to enhance income generation and profitability; 5) Identify and improve processes and mechanisms using ICT solutions and services to enhance the effectiveness of agricultural stakeholders; 6) Develop capacity at all levels to sustain and benefit from e-agriculture solutions and services; 7) Strengthen the capacity of human resources in line with the e-agriculture concept; 8) Give priority to digital systems in agricultural supports.
