Description

PoultryNET is a app that is accessible via mobile phone or PC that supports poultry producers in increasing their efficiency and operation controls, while also constantly monitoring animal welfare and the environmental conditions in their barns. PoultryNET collects air temperature, air humidity, light intensity, air flow, and CO2 and NH3 levels from sensors throughout the supply chain, and generates prediction models and recommendations that farmers can use to support their decision-making based on real-time observations. The app hosts also financial and digital assistant modules that can be used by farmers for revenue and cost analyses, and for economic problem solving. The intention is to support farmers in the management of every step of broiler production.

PoultryNET combines hardware and software technologies, and is supported by a Cloud-based app for the monitoring and management of poultry production operations. The app is supported by physical components installed in the barns, including a camera and microphone to record video and sound, and sensors that monitor air temperature, humidity, and CO2 and NH3 levels, while additional sensors can be added to garner airflow, light intensity, and water and food consumption data. The collected data is transmitted to the server on the Microsoft Azure cloud app via cellular GPRS, Wi-Fi or Long-Range WAN (LoRaWAN), ensuring reliable and secure communication between the IoT devices, the application interface and potential third-party integrations. The agroNET server feeds the data into an analysis and decision support software, which outputs information to the mobile/PC application interfaces in an illustrative form on the monitored parameters, prediction models, historic data, instructions and more. The app also features an administration portal through which famers can administer their IoT devices, set up user privileges and rules, etc. PoultryNET also features APIs that facilitate interoperability with other software. A web-based app and a mobile application called agroNET facilitate farm management. The mobile phone application runs on the Android operating system.

The app can be integrated with other software to improve data interoperability.
