The Regional Technical Platform on Green Agriculture (RTP GA) for Europe and Central Asia is a digital, user-friendly, open, intraregional and interregional gateway for the sharing of information, and a knowledge repository that facilitates connections among expert networks on various technical issues related to Green Agriculture. RTP GA presents exemplary models and experiences in the region and beyond related to different technical issues, ranging from Natural resources, biodiversity and green production, to the Green Supply Chain, Consumption, Food Loss and Waste and Cross-Cutting Areas.

RTPGA is an open-access platform available in both the English and Russian language through which users can share green good practices, interact with online blogs, participate in discussion forums and connect with other stakeholders working on the key aspects of Green Agriculture. E-learning courses related to Green Agriculture will be available through the platform in 2025.

RTP GA targets policy makers, researchers, development organizations, agricultural practitioners, private sector entities and civil society, and young people in particular, offering a digital hub through which users can access and share knowledge on sustainable agricultural practices and green technologies.

RTP GA represents the main body of governance related to mainstream Green Agriculture in Europe and Central Asia, and has three main objectives: 1) to share successful experiences and facilitate interregional exchanges of good practices – for which FAO and its development partners in the region have a comparative advantage related to technical areas of work relevant both to the region in question and other regions; 2) to build on existing regional-level technical networks to further develop, connect and strengthen regional and interregional technical networks; and 3) to create a knowledge repository containing key information on selected technical topics, focusing on normative work, projects, initiatives and programmes of FAO and its partners.
